Say what you need to say

A few days ago my boyfriend and I were sitting around talking (and catching our breath after some spontaneous living-room dancing) when he told me that I was beautiful. I realized that no one had ever told me that before - expect, possibly, my mother. It may seems like a small thing but it was wonderful to hear and something that all girls need to hear more often.

That experience made me reflect on how stingy we can be with sincere compliments. Often we think well of people and mention to other people how wonderful they are, but for some reason we never tell the actual person the things that we notice and appreciate about them. So, I've made a resolution to be more generous and sincere with compliments to those around me. We are all in the same struggle of life together and the more we can help and encourage each other the better.

  1. First of all, you have a boyfriend? Is he that tall glass of water in your FB pic? Second of all, YAY! Third, you should be told you are beautiful because you are, on the inside and outside. I am glad you have a nice man around!

  4. You are beautiful Biscuit - one of the most beautiful people I have ever & probably ever will know... I am sorry I apparently never told you that. (And I also approve heartily of this Justin person, since he had the intelligence to not only see your beauty, but tell you so! ;))

  5. I coulda sworn I told you that you were beautiful... I think it all the time, so I am very sorry if I never said it. I probably said wonderful. I say that more than beautiful... anyway, so glad you have a man who treats you well and spontaneously dances about the living room with you. I also love that I can imagine your glowing warm cheeks and hear you laughter as you collapse upon the couch... I adore you and think of you as one of those treasures I don't deserve. Thank you for always being better than I could ever be. I love you, and you are truly and purely and delightfully beautiful!!!

  6. Oh Amber...how very true your statement is. Every girl loves to hear how beautiful she is. I like you don't remember hearing it as a child but when the love of your life tells you that you are beautiful...well, lets just say,"there's nothing quite like it." Thank you for reminding us all that we need to offer more compliments in our day. You are beautiful!!! I could always count on you to be so too in young womens. Never a question never a doubt. You are beautiful!!! And give my love and best wishes to Crystal. That is awesome that she too has found a love in her life.
